Maya, a resident chimpanzee at the Fauna Foundation in Carignan, Quebec, Canada, forages in the trees in 2019. Maya was born at the Institute for Primate Studies in Oklahoma, then sold to the Université de Montréal, where she was used in cross-fostering research. Afterwards she was sent to the Quebec City Zoo, where she spent 25 years. She arrived at the Fauna Foundation sanctuary in 2007.
In addition to photographing the wildlife at the Foundation’s Ruisseau Robert Nature Reserve, Justin also photographs the sanctuary’s residents.
