A humpback whale breaches in the Port of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada in May 2020. The whale, which was 400 kilometres away from its natural habitat in the St. Lawrence Estuary, spent at least 9 days in the busy freshwater port, before being found deceased on June 09, 2020. This was the first and only time a humpback whale was observed in Montreal. Two years later, 2 minke whales would also swim upstream to Montreal.
