A bobolink takes a break from foraging at the Ruisseau Robert Nature Reserve in Carignan, Quebec, Canada. Dozens of bobolink, a grassland species listed as endangered by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC), nest at the reserve every year. Bobolink undertake one of the longest songbird migrations in the Americas, flying from their summer breeding grounds in Canada and the U.S. to South America in the winter. Their Canadian population has decreased by 73% over the past 49 years, according to COSEWIC assessments.

Justin has been conducting a photo-inventory of wildlife at the Ruisseau Robert Nature Reserve since 2017. The reserve, which is currently owned by the Fauna Foundation, serves as an important breeding and migratory stop-over site for dozens of animal species, including several that are listed as endangered, threatened or of special concern.
